Located in the lobby of Meow Wolf’s Convergence Station in Denver, the Ephemeral Flow sculptures explore the fluidity of material as a metaphor for transformation. Under immense heat and pressure, substances that appear rigid and unyielding can become ductile, shifting and flowing into new forms.

This process extends beyond physical matter. Time, energy, and the universe itself are continually moving, expanding, and changing. Like water carving its path through a mountain landscape, sustained pressure, friction, and heat can reshape even the most resistant materials.

Through ideas of erosion, deformation, and geological transformation, the work reveals the underlying plasticity of the natural world. The investigation of elementary materials and their ability to bend, transfer, and transform informs Joshua Goss’s exploration of energy, matter, and the evolving structure of the universe.
